Lemon balm.

It is a wonderful plant and I happened to find it yesterday close to my house in the wild nature. You will not find it that often in the wild as it is a domestic type of plant.

Lemon balm is pleasant and one can plant it easily in the garden or balcony. You can either buy a young plant in the store or plant it from a seed at home.  The seed is very small, so make sure to cover it lightly with earth so it gets the chance to sprout easily. Keep the earth wet. It requires regular watering as it has much delicate leaves when watered regularly. If it stays longer without water, its leaves will harden and then they are more difficult to eat.  However, do not overwater the plant as it will die.

Hildegard writes the following about it: “lemon balm is warm and the person that eats it, will love to laugh because it´s warmth touches his spleen and the heart becomes delighted”. The leaves of the plant are covered with little hair. Wash the leaves well before eating. Eat it regularly, e.g. one leaf a day for a week – it will delight your heart and your soul! You can also eat it as often as you want, and regular consumption over a longer time period will be beneficial for your psyche.

Enjoy the lemon balm raw! You can cut it into small piecies, or take scissors to process it. What is easier for you.   You can also add it to your sweet porridge as a topping or to other desserts.  This way you will add a piece of nature – viriditas – with health benefits to your food.
